What a permissioned token is
A share, written on a blockchain Each asset you invest in has its own token. Holding the token is holding the share of the asset: the blockchain keeps the register of who owns what, in the open, and it cannot be rewritten afterwards.
ERC-3643: it checks who you are An ordinary crypto token can be sent to anyone. An ERC-3643 token cannot: before every transfer, the token itself checks that the receiver is a verified investor. If the check fails, the transfer simply does not happen.

Your identity is a small contract on the blockchain that carries the proofs Coin District has checked about you. It is what lets a token accept you as a holder.
